Dining Car Silver and China
While many china patterns were clearly marked with either a railroad logo or backstamped with the railroad name or initials, there are a number of patterns that were made exclusively for the railroads and are not backstamped or marked in any way. These are called exclusive use patterns and can range from very common to very valuable. The silver plate serving pieces and silverware were always marked either on the top, bottom, or side.
There are a number of pieces that are similar to railroad pieces, but when checked out, have enough differences to easily identify them as pattern pieces not made for railroad use. Please feel free to call us if you need assistance in identifying pieces. We will happily assist you in identifying your china and silver.
